Portage Health System is a premier healthcare institution in western Upper Peninsula, Michigan. It has been providing quality care services to the people of Keweenaw area for more than a century. This community owned and operated entity is a member of the Upper Peninsula Health Care Network.

Houghton Community Health Center, situated on the Michigan Technological University campus, is a subsidiary facility of Portage Health System. It provides a full spectrum of medical services for the students and the local community with apothecary pharmacy, and portage rehabilitation and sports medicine center as additional facilities.
Apart from its medical and surgical services, the Portage offers a number of community education programs.
