Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center

Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center (DRH) was founded in 1915 as a city-owned hospital. In collaboration with the Wayne State University, DRH provides a comprehensive continuum of care, which includes resuscitation, emergency surgical intervention, diagnostic and medical treatment, and intensive care to trauma victims from all over Michigan.

The hospital specializes in bariatric surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, dermatology, occupational health, sleep disorders care, spinal cord injury care and visually handicapped services.

Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center provides both Research and Teaching facilities.
