Mary Free Bed Hospital
Mary Free Bed Hospital was started in 1891. It is one of the few hospitals in Kent Country still owned and operated by a women's guild. It is an independent acute care facility devoted exclusively to rehabilitation for adults and children.
The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient programs, diagnosis services, physical therapy clinics and specialty medical treatment services throughout Michigan, Great Lakes and the Midwest states. Services in strokes, orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, congenital abnormalities, pain and amputation are available there.
The hospital sponsors the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program, which encompasses seminars, workshops, lecture series and conferences, grand rounds, self-study opportunities, remediation and other innovative educational activities.
Mary Free Bed Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and pediatric programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
