Independence Regional Health Center

Independence Regional Health Center, earlier known as The Independence Sanitarium was started in 1909. It is an acute care facility serving the residents of eastern Jackson County and western Lafayette counties. The staff at the hospital comprises 300 dedicated physicians, nearly 250 registered nurses and 300 active volunteers. The hospital offers a wide range of services, which include Cardiac Services, Rehabilitation Unit, Radiology Services, Skilled Nursing Facility, Health Resource Center and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. The hospital is accredited with the Joint Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is a member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce.

Independence Regional Health Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
