Medical Center Of Independence
Medical Center of Independence (MCI) opened its wings to the residents of Jackson and western Lafayette Counties in 1970. It also serves as a training center for the University Of Health Sciences College Of Osteopathic Medicine. The hospital also started a new neonatal intensive care unit on 2005, to meet the medical needs of newborns and premature babies. In addition to the general inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency services, the hospital also offers a wide range of other services including Radiarium, a radiation therapy clinic, medical and surgical care units, critical care unit, progressive and intensive care, laboratory and pathology services, laser and ambulatory surgical services, endoscopy services, pain management clinic, cardiac diagnostics and diabetes center. This hospital is fully accredited with commendation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Organization (JCAHO) and a member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce.
